Born 1983, Dundee, Scotland.
PAST
I wanted to be a painter since my early teens. At school I believed the early Impressionists were more "Rock and Roll", than any band or singer... and still do to this day.
When I started Duncan Of Jordanstone, School Of Art, Dundee, I was only 17, and looking back, far too young. After a year, let's just say we both agreed that leaving would be the best outcome.
I got a job as a Kitchen Porter for the next 20 years, worked as a chef all over the UK and Los Angeles. Enough was enough in 2020, and I decided to start painting again.

INFLUENCE
My main inspiration s for subject, is the local environment around me. Capturing the character and and spirit of a place is something that i try passionately to achieve.
As for painting influences, the bold works of the Scottish Colourists, and the modern styles of impressionism are always visible.

FUTURE
I hope to continue a constant progesssion in my painting, exploring different styles and mediums through various exhibitions and commissions, creating affordable art for everyone to enjoy.
